Be Cautious with Emails, Texts or Phone Calls:
Do not respond to unsolicited messages claiming to be from the bank. If you receive a suspicious message or phone call, contact the bank directly.
Monitor Your Accounts Regularly:
Keep an eye on your bank statement and bank account activity for any unauthorized transactions. Report any suspicious activity to the bank immediately.
Use Reputable Apps and Software:
Download banking apps only from official app stores and avoid sideloading apps from unverified sources, as these can contain malware.
Stay Informed About Scams:
Educate yourself about common scams, such as phishing and malware attacks, to recognize and avoid them. Cybercriminals are increasingly using sophisticated methods to trick individuals into revealing personal information.
By implementing these strategies, you can significantly enhance the security of your bank account and protect yourself from potential fraud and cyber threats. Always stay vigilant and proactive in safeguarding your financial information.
When and How ISB will contact you:
Iowa State Bank may contact you if we believe there is possible fraud (check, deposit, debit card, etc.) on your account. Iowa State Bank will never ask for your account number or online banking credentials.
See Debit Card Security for information on when/how you may be contacted if there is suspected debit card fraud.
If you receive an email, text, or phone call asking for confidential information, this is a RED FLAG!
End the call, delete the text or email and call one of our offices immediately.
